If you are trying to decide between the DreamCloud Premier vs Saatva Classic, you are choosing between two popular hybrid mattresses that combine plush pillow tops with coil systems. In this article, we will take a closer look at each mattress’ construction, firmness, cooling, edge support, motion isolation and durability.
Mattress Millionaires Quick Verdict: DreamCloud Premier vs Saatva Classic
After personally testing both mattresses in multiple sleep positions and comparing cooling, edge support, and comfort, I preferred the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm. It felt more comfortable across a wider range of sleep positions and felt more durable. The cover was softer to the touch and also more cooling. The DreamCloud Premier has its appeal too, but felt less supportive and sank more deeply during testing. However, if you want a plush pillow top hybrid and are budget conscious, it is a great option. Here is a quick breakdown of how each mattress performed during testing:

How We Tested the DreamCloud Premier and Saatva Classic
At Mattress Millionaires, we evaluate every mattress through hands-on testing in our home sleep lab. For this comparison we:
- Slept on each mattress for at least 3 nights
- Tested side, back, and stomach sleeping positions
- Measured cooling performance using a surface temperature test
- Evaluated motion isolation using a 10-lb drop test
- Assessed edge support by sitting and lying near the perimeter
Construction and Materials Comparison
DreamCloud Premier = Cashmere blend quilted topper + foam + individually wrapped coils
The DreamCloud Premier has six layers including a pillow top, multiple memory foam layers for comfort and support, and a coil system for support and durability. The most notable design element is the plush pillow top with a complex foam profile for comfort and pressure relief.

Saatva Classic = Euro pillow top + strong dual coil system
The Saatva Classic has a traditional innerspring build. The 3 inch plush pillow top feels plush like a luxury hotel mattresses, and the breathable organic cotton cover feels soft, cool and more premium. The dual-coil design responds to pressure offering deep pressure relief with strong support. There are two spring coils stacked together, one for deep support and one for more defined contouring. The dual-coil system with a foam perimeter is one of the biggest reasons the Saatva feels more supportive, substantial and more durable than the DreamCloud.

My Hot Take: the DreamCloud Premier feels like a nice, premium boxed mattress, while the Saatva Classic feels like a true premium showroom mattress.
Firmness and Feel

Although both mattresses are marketed as medium firmness hybrids, the DreamCloud Premier felt closer to a softer, plush medium firmness. The memory foam sensation was more noticeable, as we felt some body contouring, but without too much sinkage or hugging.
The Saatva Classic Luxury Firm felt closer to a true medium-firm. The support comes through the cushioning much faster, so instead of feeling it contour to your body, you feel lifted and supported, which is why it is more comfortable is a variety of sleep positions.
During testing, we noted that the DreamCloud’s pillow top was more plush and had 1/2 inch more sinkage during the weighted ball test. For some sleepers, especially side sleepers, this is a positive.
For me though, the Saatva’s shallower compression was more ideal and had a more controlled, responsive and supportive feel.

Overall, the DreamCloud Premier gives you a thicker, plusher hybrid, while Saatva Classic gives you more options for customization and stronger cooling features.
Pressure Relief
Excellent pressure relief is one of the DreamCloud’s biggest selling points. The plush pillow top and multiple foam comfort layers make it better for pressure relief. If you want deep cushioning around our shoulders and hips, DreamCloud is the better choice.

The Saatva Classic also provides good pressure relief, but it does so without as much contouring. For me, that made it a more comfortable choice because it relieved pressure without feeling too soft and while also helping maintain better spinal alignment and sleep posture.
Cooling Performance
Saatva Classic is the winner for cooling. The organic cotton cover felt cooler, fresher and nicer to the touch right away, while the DreamCloud retained more warmth, most likely from the thick foam layers underneath.
The dual-coil systems does an excellent job facilitating airflow. In addition, keeping your bedroom cool at 60 to 67° F (15 to 19° C) is the ideal bedroom temperature for sleep.
The DreamCloud showed a neutral temperature during testing and was cooler than all-foam mattresses we have tested, but the memory foam layers still retained heat. This should not impact your sleep experience, it’s just not a specialty cooling mattress.
Motion Isolation
If you sleep with a partner and are sensitive to each other’s nighttime movements, DreamCloud is the better choice that will help you sleep without disturbance.
The multiple foam layers absorb movement before it bounces off the coils, making the motion isolation stronger than many hybrids. The Saatva Classic had moderate motion isolation, but was still more bouncy and responsive than the DreamCloud.

Edge Support
The Saatva Classic is the better mattress for edge support and has one of the strongest edge supports of hybrids we have tested to date. The DreamCloud had fairly significant sinkage of 4.5 inches when sitting on the edge of the mattress.
However, when we tested it by lying in a side sleep position near the edge, the support was much better and only sank 2 inches at the hips and was barely noticeable at the shoulders. I’m a lightweight sleeper (under 125 lbs), so if you fall into the heavier category, the DreamCloud’s edge support may not meet your needs.
Durability and Long-Term Value
The DreamCloud Premier has a solid hybrid design with high-density foam that should last 7 to 10 years based on the materials and construction. For the price, this is a good value. The Saatva’s dual-coil system, denser support structure, strong perimeter and more premium materials indicate that it should last 10 -12 years. Also it simply feels like a sturdier more premium mattress. On price alone, DreamCloud wins. Depending on active promotions, a queen is priced around $1,099, which is one of the better values in the luxury hybrid market that typically reflects $1,500+. Saatva has a higher price, but you are getting long-term value, white glove delivery, and more premium materials and service. Pricing and Discounts Here is the type of pricing and discounts you can expect from each brand:
| Brand / Model | MSRP / Listed Price (Queen) | Frequent Sale Price Range (Observed) | Typical Promo Pattern | What’s Included (Value Notes) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid (Queen) | $2,496 total value / typically listed around $1,099 on the product page | ~$1,099–$1,199 | DreamCloud usually runs an always-on discount model rather than small occasional promo swings, with the “sale” price presented as the main buy-now price | 365-night trial, Forever Warranty, free shipping and returns; strongest value play if your priority is a plush luxury-style hybrid at a lower upfront price |
| Saatva Classic Queen (Luxury Firm) | $2,179 | ~$1,853–$1,900 | Promotions commonly show as dollar-off or percentage-off events, often landing around the mid-$1,800s for a queen depending on timing | Free white glove delivery, in-room setup, lifetime warranty, 365-night trial, and free mattress removal; higher upfront price, but stronger premium-service value |
Delivery Experience
DreamCloud arrives compressed in a box, expands over 1-3 days and is easy enough to set up if you are strong or have help. Saatva offers free white-glove delivery, home set up and will even remove your old mattress for free. This is truly a better, easier experience. The tradeoff is that you pay a premium and since Saatva mattresses are made to order, they do not arrive as quickly.

Which mattress sleeps cooler?
Saatva Classic had a cooler surface temperature during testing. The organic cotton cover feels cooler to the touch and the dual-coil base construction promotes airflow better.
