Hot Take: When we first laid on the Nectar Premier, it felt luxurious, supportive and like our bodies were being hugged. When we first laid on the Saatva Classic, it felt plus but not bouncy or sinking.
Firmness & Feel:
The most obvious difference between the Nectar Premier and the Saatva Classic is how they feel when you lie down.
The Nectar Premier is a true medium feel (6.5 / 10 on our scale). The initial feel is soft cushioning that hugs your body. You slowly melt into place and can feel the foam contouring around pressure points in shoulders and hips. We found this to be exceptionally comfortable in the side sleep position, but we disliked our butts sinking down in the back sleep position.

The Saatva Classic can be purchases in three levels of firmness, but we tested Luxury Firm as it is the most popular and most comparable for medium mattresses. Instead of feeling deep contouring, you feel a soft plush top with firm support underneath and a slight buoyancy.
| Feature | Nectar Premier | Saatva Classic |
|---|---|---|
| Firmness Level (1–10 Scale) | Medium (6/10) | Luxury Firm we tested: Medium–Medium Firm (6.5–7/10).
Also available in Plush Soft (3–4/10) and Firm (8/10). |
| Overall Feel | Deep contouring, slow-response memory foam | Plush Euro-top with supportive spring lift |
| Surface Sensation | Cradled “in” the mattress | Cushioned but lifted “on” the mattress |
| Pressure Relief Style | Foam compresses gradually and hugs body | Pillow top cushions while coils support underneath |
| Sink Depth | Moderate–deep sink | Light–moderate sink |
| Ease of Movement | Slower repositioning due to foam contour | Very easy to reposition due to coil responsiveness |
| Bounce / Responsiveness | Minimal bounce | High responsiveness and bounce |
| Body Contouring | Full-body contouring | Gentle contouring with supportive pushback |
| Best For Feel Preference | People who love traditional memory foam feel | People who prefer a classic luxury hotel mattress feel |

Cooling: Which Mattress Sleeps Cooler between Nectar Premier and Saatva Classic?
The Mattress Millionaires crowned winner for cooling is the Saatva Classic. During our testing, the Saatva Classic surface temperature was 79 degrees F after 30 minutes of rest. This is significantly cooler that other foam mattresses we have tested.
We didn’t notice any heat retention around our bodies during the night. This is most likely due to the dual coils facilitating airflow and the organic cotton cover is highly breathable.
The Nectar Premier’s surface level temperature reached 90 degrees after 30 minutes, which we say is moderately warm. We felt it was still better cooling than other memory foam mattresses as it has gel infused, but warmer than hybrid mattresses.
Sleeping Position Performance
Here is a breakdown of how each mattresses ranked in various sleep positions.
| Sleep Position | Nectar Premier | Saatva Classic (Luxury Firm) |
|---|---|---|
| Side Sleepers | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Back Sleepers | ⭐⭐⭐ | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Stomach Sleepers | ⭐⭐⭐ | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Combination Sleepers | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Couples | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
Side Sleepers
The Nectar Premier is an excellent choice for side sleepers. We found it to be very comfortable in the side sleep positions great pressure relief in the shoulders and hips.
The Saatva Classic also performed well for side sleeping, but the coil system made it slightly firmer and the memory foam was not as deep. If you want maximum cushioning and deep contoruing, Nectar Premier is the better choice.
Back Sleepers
The Saatva Classic was more support for back sleepers. The dual coil system worked very well at supporting the hips when you lie on your back and helped keep the spine neutral.
We disliked how the Nectar Premier hugged our butts and hips in the back sleep position. Overall it was too much sink in the back position.
Stomach Sleepers
Neither mattress performed well for stomach sleepers due to the softness and cushioning. A firmer mattress would be better for stomach sleepers.

Motion Isolation: Best Mattress for Couples
The Nectar Premier is the crowned winner for motion isolation, also making it the better choice for couples. We dropped a 10 lb weighted ball on one side and the person lying on the other side barely felt any movement. Couples who are sensitive to each other movements will benefit from this.

During the 10 lb weighted ball test, the movement was more noticeable with the Saatva Classic. The pillow top was helpful in absorbing some of the bounce. but it wasn’t absorbed as well as an all foam mattress.
Edge Support
The Saatva Classic has the stronger edge support and is the crowned winner. We measured only half an inch of sinkage when sitting on the edge, making this mattress one of the strongest edges we have tested. The dual coil system is very strong even on the edges, so if you sleep or sit on the edge frequently or share a bed with a partner, this is the better choice.

The Nectar Premier had average support on the edge. We measured 2 1/2 inches if sinkage when we sat on the edge, so the compression was much more noticeable, but we still felt comfortable lying in a side sleep position at the edge.

Durability & Lifespan
It is the general industry consensus that a steel coil system is for durable and long-lasting than an all foam mattress. So if durability and lifespan are a priority for you, the Saatva Classic is the better choice.
Both mattresses are made from high-quality materials, and the Nectar Premier in particular is thicker than most all foam mattresses at 13 inches.
Pricing & Value
We purchased both mattresses online from the official brand websites and studies prices changes over 2025 and into 2026. Pricing changes frequently due to promotions. Here are the average price ranges we observed.
| Mattress | Queen MSRP | Typical Sale Price |
|---|---|---|
| Nectar Premier | ~$1,699 | ~$900–$1,299 |
| Saatva Classic | $2,179 | ~$1,500–$1,850 |
If getting the best value is important to you, you won’t find a better value than the Nectar Premier for a thick, all-foam premium mattress. Also the delivery time was the fasted we received.
The Saatva Classic is more expensive, but comes with white glove delivery and in-home set up and free removal of your old mattress. Each mattress is made-to order so you will have to wait 2 – 3 weeks from the time you place the order to the mattress being ready and scheduled for delivery.
