During our edge support test, the Helix Midnight compressed about 2 inches while sitting on the side. That is a strong result and one of the practical reasons this mattress works well for couples. You can use more of the mattress surface without feeling like the edge is collapsing underneath you.

The DLX Premier Hybrid had 2.5 inches of compression at the edge. That is still good, especially considering our Soft/Medium test model had plush comfort layers and a thick 3-inch foam insert. But compared to Helix, the DLX edge felt a little softer.

This does not mean the DLX has bad edge support. It still felt usable and stable. But if you frequently sit on the edge of the bed, sleep close to the edge, or share a smaller mattress with a partner, Helix has the advantage.
